Who is HawkAlpha for?

HawkAlpha is designed for traders who aim to capitalize on market volatility and minimize their risk when dealing with highly volatile stocks. Our platform caters to those seeking automated trading solutions tailored to their specific strategies and risk tolerance levels. Additionally, with the integration of TraderJS, HawkAlpha becomes a versatile tool for traders interested in customizing their strategies further. TraderJS allows for the creation of unique automated trading scripts using JavaScript, offering an extra layer of personalization for those who wish to delve deeper into strategy development.

How does TraderJS enhance my trading on HawkAlpha?

TraderJS is a powerful tool within HawkAlpha that significantly enhances your trading capabilities. It allows you to write custom scripts in JavaScript, giving you the freedom to develop unique trading strategies tailored to your specific goals and market insights. With TraderJS, you can automate complex trading actions, analyze market data in real-time, and execute trades with precision. This feature is particularly beneficial for traders who want to go beyond standard trading bots and explore more sophisticated, personalized trading algorithms. TraderJS perfectly complements HawkAlpha's automated trading features by adding a layer of customization, enabling you to fine-tune your trading approach to align with your individual trading style and market perspectives.

Does HawkAlpha provide a free trial?

No, HawkAlpha does not offer a free trial, but for good reason. Each user accounts on our platform is provided with their own dedicated Virtual Private Server (VPS). This individual VPS setup is essential not only for meeting market data licensing requirements but also for ensuring the highest standards of performance, reliability, and stability for your trading activities. The cost associated with each VPS directly contributes to these benefits, offering a personalized and robust trading environment that underpins the unique value HawkAlpha delivers to every user."

Is HawkAlpha safe?

Yes, HawkAlpha is committed to maintaining the highest standards of security to safeguard user data and confidential broker account information. We employ industry-standard security practices, including advanced encryption protocols for data transmission and secure server infrastructure to ensure continuous protection. HawkAlpha is designed with a robust architecture that prevents unauthorized access. HawkAlpha cannot initiate withdrawals of user funds as this isn't possible with the brokers provided API. Additionally, users have full control over their API keys and can reset them at any time with the broker and revoke HawkAlpha's immediate access, providing an extra layer of security and peace of mind.

Why do I need to provide market data?

Market data is essential for HawkAlpha to effectively manage your trading. It includes all the necessary information about stock prices and movements, which HawkAlpha uses to execute buy or sell orders on your behalf based on your bot configurations. Alpaca sources this data and delivers it to your account, which HawkAlpha accesses through the API connection.

You have two options for market data: SIP, a comprehensive data feed that provides price and quotes from all major U.S. stock exchanges, and IEX, a free option with a more limited feed offering price and quotes from the IEX exchange. Alpaca offers IEX by default, though you may pay for the premium SIP  market data subscription (this is recommended). Depending on your trading needs and strategy, you can choose the one that suits you best. HawkAlpha ensures that this data is securely integrated into your personal VPS, accessible only to your trading bots for accurate and efficient operations.

What is the recommended minimum account balance?

HawkAlpha recommends a minimal balance of $25,000 USD. This is because the Pattern Day Trader (PDT) rule set in place by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) says traders with an account having less than $25,000 will have their broker account frozen for 90 days if they place more than four or more day trades over a five business day period with their margin account. HawkAlpha is easily capable of placing more than four trades in less than 1 second.

Users with less than $25,000 USD may still use HawkAlpha but will need to manage their trades carefully so they don’t get their accounts locked.

Can users on HawkAlpha lose money?

Trading is risky, and trading via automation is also risky. Automation does not automatically guarantee profit for users. HawkAlpha simply allows users to create bots that will place orders as explicitly defined. Just like any tool, users on HawkAlpha should expect to see results based off how they implement their own personal strategy.
